About the Mid Florida Junior Golf Tour

The Mid-Florida Junior Golf Tour began play as the Marion County Junior Golf Tour in 2013. The Tour was originally founded to provide a competitive outlet and learning tool for the participants of The First Tee of Greater Ocala. In July of 2016, the Tour separated from The First Tee and began plans to expand operations to better serve all young golfers in North Central Florida. The goals are the same, provide a professional, competitive, cost-effective learning environment for young players to hone their skills to play at the higher levels of Junior Golf. The Mid-Florida Junior Golf Tour has a working relationship with the Florida State Golf Association's Florida Junior Tour. The FJT provides exemptions to our players who win two day events and Season Point Titles. In addition, all of our events now give players the opportunity to earn points toward their Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking, one of the most important tools in players being recruited to play collegiately.

2022 will bring about some additional changes and more new exciting events! The season will kick-off in February with our 2nd Annual All Star Event, the UGE/MFJGT Challenge Cup. This year's event will be held at contested over Lake Jovita's two championship courses. The event pits the best players from the Ultimate Golf Experience (Bradenton/Sarasota area junior tour) in various match play formats against the UGE's best. The winner holds the Cup for the year. Last year's event was won by the UGE but we intend on bringing home the Cup in 2022!

The lineup of courses continues to improve every year. This year is no exception! Our home course remains the same, Stone Creek Golf Club in Ocala will host 4 tournaments, the 2022 Season Opener in March, the Match Play Championship in May, the Two Player Championship in October and finally, our Tour Championship in December. In addition to Stone Creek, some of the regular venues from past years will be represented. Candler Hills Golf Club, The Country Club of Ocala, Juliette Fall Golf Club (2), Ocala Golf Club (2), Skyview Golf and Country Club, the University of Florida's Mark Bostick Golf Course (2), Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Mission Inn Golf and Resort and finally the Arnold Palmers Legends Country Club in The Villages. 16 events with FJT STEP Exemptions and Junior Golf Scoreboard Points on the line in every single tournament. A great way for your junior player to gain experience and prep for golf at the next level...whatever that may be!
